Help Wanted – Flaggers Needed
On Friday and Saturday, June 15 & 16, a Performance Driving Experience is being put on by the Tri-Region Race Group
on the full 2 ½ mile road racing course at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA (Route 115, near I-80 and I-476), about
2 hours west of the George Washington Bridge. Because of all the events going on in the Northeast Division and
the F1 race in Indy, our normal worker pool is being depleted that weekend. We really need flaggers, both experienced
and novice, for one or both days.
Tri-Region Race Group is the organization that coordinates three SCCA Regions (South Jersey, Philadelphia, and
Northeast PA) to put on Sports Car events at Pocono Raceway.
Incentives will be: white hats, small gift, $7 lunch coupons, coffee & pastries in the morning, a picnic on Friday
about 6:30, and track rides with instructors.
We plan to rotate flaggers so there will be different views and new people to meet at different times (unless you
say you have two people who want to work as a team).
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. each day and will stay open because people will be coming in at all hours. There
is overnight camping on Friday evening, but not on Thursday before the event.
Please let George/Judy Bloeser know of your availability and ask them any questions. They can be reached
at indy33@aol.com, 610-965-0585 (home), or 610-360-0740 (cell).

The NEPA Corvette Club is going to put on an autox on Sunday June 3rd 2007 at
Valley Chevrolet 221 Conyngham Ave Wilkes-Barre PA. This is the "service center lot"
and not the new car lot right by the Wyoming Valley Mall. To get to the service center,
take Exit2 from the CrossValley (309N) and head toward Center City WB on Wilkes-Barre BLVD.
Once on the BLVD, make a right at the first traffic light onto Conyngham. The event will be on your right.
ALL of the proceeds from this event are going to the Teddy Bear Patrol of the Wilkes-Barre Police
Department. The NEPA Corvette Club is not keeping a penny from this event. All types of cars are
elidgeable to run (not just Corvettes) so if you are looking for something to do June 3rd, this is
for a really good cause so come out and run your car.
Registration is 9:00am. Other questions, please contact Joe Lazzaro of the Corvette club at 570-654-8719.

ANNUAL TECH - There will be a TRI-REGION Annual Tech Day held on Saturday,
March 31st at Joe Aquilante's Phoenix Performance Inc. in Phoenixville, PA
(intersection of Routes 23 and 724) from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Members of any
SCCA Region are welcome. If you have questions, call Karl/ Marge Iochum
(Chief of Tech) at 215-338-7576 or George Bloeser (Tri-Region Chair) at
610-965-0585. -Judy Bloeser, Secretary Tri-Region Race Group
For those of you guys unfamiliar with Club Racing's "Annual Tech Day",
I asked Judy for a short description. Here is her response:
All cars used in SCCA Club Racing need to have an annual technical
inspection done by a Nationally licensed Tech Inspector (Scrutineer).
Often a driver has to take his/her car to an Tech Inspector's home at a
mutually convenient time or have the hassle of trying to get an inspection
done at a track prior to one of the first events of the year. If anything
needs to be changed for the car to pass inspection (even as simple as roll
bar padding), it adds stress and possible inability to accomplish the task
prior to getting on track. Having this day/time set up at Joe Aquilante's
shop with 4 or more National Tech Inspectors allows for a convenient way
to get the inspection done.
It also becomes a social event with "bench racing" and refreshments. Joe
Aquilante owns the area's premier car preparation shop (Phoenix Racing) -
state of the art. Many drivers driving his cars make it to the National
Championship Runoffs. -Judy Bloeser, Secretary Tri-Region Race Group

I received the following email announcing the dates for the 2007 PDX. All of the documents
mentioned in the message are available in the "Downloads" section of the NEPASCCA webpage
under 2007 PDX. (Webmaster)
As the new year begins, Tri-Region is asking for your help in getting the
word out about the 2007 PDX at Pocono on June 15 & 16. I am attaching the
current ad with pricing, the draft of the Supps which will not be
finalized until after the SCCA National Convention when we hope a couple
of rule changes occur, and the entry form. People can also pre-register
by going to www.myautoevents.com, but that only starts the process - I
would then send the person the paperwork that I am attaching.
You are welcome to use the following as a lead into the event with links
to the ad, Supps, and entry.
Tri-Region Race Group, the SCCA racing organization that includes
Northeast PA, Philadelphia, and South Jersey Regions, is pleased to
announce the 2007 PDX which will be held on June 15 and 16, the Friday and
Saturday of Father's Day weekend. The 2.5 mile club racing course
including the North infield road course, Long Pond Straight with the
chicane, NASCAR Turn 1, and the long front straight will be used for this
event.
Attached are the flyer for the PDX, the entry form, and the "draft"
Supplemental Regulations which will be finalized after the SCCA National
Convention (Feb 1-3) when the ruling on inclusion of convertibles will be
made. Generally, everything will be the same as last year, but
convertibles with factory roll bars may be able to be included.
Note that the entry fee at this time is the same as last year, but will be
increased $25.00 on February 1. So, look over the materials, ask
questions, and make your reservations early. You can pre-register at
www.myautoevents.com or make your reservations final by completing the
entry form and sending it with your check to Judy Bloeser, Registrar for
the PDX. If you have questions, please call Judy at home (610-965-0585)
or on her cell phone (610-360-0740).
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.
-Judy Bloeser (Tri-Region)
